Description
The aim is to spread awareness about sustainable fashion as an alternative to one of the biggest environmental polluters: the garment industry. Toxic substances from clothing manufacturing are released into water, soil, and air. Additionally, the garments themselves—currently in surplus due to ultra-fast fashion—constitute a significant portion of landfill sites worldwide. Fast fashion brands today produce around 52 "micro-seasons" a year, effectively launching one new collection every week. Stores maintain consistently large inventories, ensuring brands never run out of stock. However, this surplus is highly visible, not only in landfills but also, tragically, in rivers and oceans. The environmental impact of the garment industry is becoming overwhelming, with most people wearing only a small fraction of what is produced. There is, however, an alternative to fast fashion: sustainable fashion. This approach emphasizes reusing existing garments or adapting them into new, attractive forms for wearers. Despite its potential, sustainable fashion remains largely overlooked. We aim to bring this movement to the forefront and raise public awareness about the importance of embracing sustainable fashion.
