Description

The production of grey water is about 50% in households and about 27% of the total wastewater production in commercial buildings. AS-GW / AQUALOOP are compact grey water treatment plants for both family and residential buildings. The size ranges of the treatment plants are from 4 to 144 EO. These are type elements that are conveniently combinable and therefore suitable for both new constructions and renovations. Available in 2 variants - above ground and underground. Description of the technology: waste water flows through the filter of mechanical impurities of the reaction tank, in which the water is biologically purified. The reaction tank is equipped with a membrane module, in the lower part of which there is an aeration system. Above the membrane module is a pump which extracts water under vacuum through the membranes and discharges the already purified water into a purified water storage tank. The water from the storage tank is pumped into the service water distribution system. The reaction tank is equipped with an emergency overflow. The system can be refilled with potable water.

Economic benefits

Recycling light grey water (especially bathroom water) into so-called white water (service/operating water for flushing toilets, washing floors, irrigation, etc.) is one of the easiest and most economical. Up to 50% of drinking water can be saved in this way, with a return on investment of up to 10 years. The technologies used for grey water recycling are proven, inexpensive and can be automated and controlled remotely.

Environmental benefits

Recycling grey water saves fresh drinking water for other uses, reduces the volume of wastewater going into septic tanks and wastewater treatment plants, and increases the capacity of infrastructure for new users. Rainwater can, with minimal treatment, replace drinking water in many cases (utility water for flushing toilets, cleaning, washing vehicles) and is even preferable to drinking water in the case of irrigation.

Examples of implementation of the solution in practice

Collection of grey and rain water in Brno, AQUALOOP in Munich, Family house in Žilina, Recycling of grey water in a cottage in Bytča, Use of grey water in Prague - Family house in Košíří (Prague), Treatment of grey water in Opawa (New Zealand).
