Description

ŽOS-EKO, s. r. o. is among significant processing companies of used vehicles in Slovakia. The company created a complex system of collection and processing of used vehicles. It has created a collection, storage, and production-processing facilities to collect and process used vehicles, material use, and recovery of particular parts. In the facility, there are also technological and processing machines that enable safe manipulation of dangerous and other wastes, which are produced during the collection and processing of used vehicles. The vehicles are ecologically disassembled. In the beginning, they are rid of all liquids, such as old, brake fluid, diesel, or gasoline, which could pose ecological risks should they uncontrollably enter water or soil. Subsequently, the battery is removed, which is another dangerous part that contains acids. The wreck is stripped of tyres, glass, seats, and engine during further disassembly. In the end, the metal bodywork is processed. From one average car then, in Vrútky, they can gain approximately 700 kg of iron, 80 kg of other metals, more than 100 kg of plastic, more than 25 kg of rubber parts, over 20 kg of textile, and over 30 kg of special glued glass.

Economic benefits

Saving resources. Along with the engine, the body is the most valuable part in the recycling process, as iron and aluminium are the most sought after in the market. The individual salvaged raw materials are then delivered to final processors for further recovery. Vehicle parts in very good condition are offered by the company to repair shops and individuals as spare parts.

The area includes technological and processing facilities enabling safe handling of hazardous and other wastes that arise during the collection and processing of old vehicles.
